I ventured to the mall this morning to get some Christmas shopping done. Whoa - I think everyone else had the same idea. The mall was packed.
Since prying eyes would love to know what I bought, I can't go into specifics. But, let me just say it is so hard to stick to a budget! Wayne's family all agreed to stick to a certain dollar amount. I can appreciate that (with a little relief, too) but trying to find something thoughtful, personal, meaningful within x amount can be tough. Budgets always seem like a good idea until Christmas rolls around and you end up looking like a cheap skate.
"Oh, Val, I just love this sample-sized lipstick you obviously got as a gift with purchase. Thank you so much."
Budgets are a good idea! Just challenging...
Also, just to warn you merry shoppers out there - the people with road rage are alive and well. My local mall parking lot resembled a war zone as people cut each other off trying to get the parking space that is 3 steps closer to the entrance. The gesturing, eye rolling, honking were unreal! (No, I did not cause these things to happen (where is your benefit of the doubt, people?!) - just stuff I observed while packing and unpacking the SUV).
Ahhh, let the season begin.
